About The Icing On The Cake
The Icing on the Cake is a cake shop on Market Street in Marple, trading since 1992, where cakes are baked and decorated on the premises. It specialises in made-to-order celebration, wedding and novelty cakes and also sells seasonal bakes such as its Christmas mince pies. Gluten-free baking is a particular focus here, which matters if you are coeliac or cooking for someone who is – always ask about cross-contamination controls. Regulars tend to come back for celebration cakes, wedding cakes, novelty cakes and mince pies.

Arriving by public transport? Head for Rose Hill Marple station; from there it is a walk of about 14 minutes. It is not the only option nearby: there are 2 more bakeries within a kilometre, so a bakery crawl is easily done.
